Dear Animal Activist,
Many of you have reached out to me in the past for help with your work with animals. To make it easier for you to support yourselves and one another, we've built an app for exactly that. Please download it, and encourage others doing similar work to do the same. Search for Rapid Response on the app store and download the app with a paw as the logo.
Have you ever been mobbed when feeding an animal, and then left alone to bear the brunt of an organised gang?
Have you ever been told by the police to get lost because your complaint is animal-related?
Have you been told by your local corporator that you should not feed animals because it bothers other people?
Have you been told by an RWA or a landlord that you need to leave because you have animals in your flat?
Have you ever had your RWA illegally relocating animals while you watch helplessly?
Have you had to bear the pain of an illegal ABC centre in your district killing your animals with no official listening to your complaint?

What this app does
Builds a visible army that protects each other and animals in crisis.
Elevates animal welfare to the notice of policy makers in the district.
Gives respect to all those who work for animals.
Removes the silence around animal welfare people and shows the power of the movement.
What this app is NOT
This is NOT a report helpline where ambulance or police will magically appear. This is a platform for active volunteering, to build an animal welfare community in your district. The larger you make it, the more effective it will be.
The vision: 780 districts, one network
India has approximately 780 districts. The aim is to build a network of at least 10,000 feeders and caretakers in each zone. From this network, a Rapid Response Team of approximately 1,000 members per zone will be formed ready to respond when a feeder is attacked, harassed by an RWA, ignored by authorities, or when an animal needs urgent help.
Even if only 200–300 members respond, their collective presence ensures safety, accountability, and support.
How the app works
SOS view count. The person who raises an SOS sees how many people the alert has reached a first signal of how far it has travelled.
District subscriber count and names. You can clearly see how many people are subscribed in your district and who they are. If there are too few, you know to share the app more widely.
Responder-initiated chat. Chat is enabled only while an SOS is active, so it stays focused on the emergency. The person who raised the SOS cannot start the chat any recipient who is willing to help initiates it. Once started, it becomes a normal two-way conversation.

This initiative is built by the animal welfare community, for the animal welfare community. Its effectiveness depends entirely on how many people come forward. Download the app, register yourself, and share it with at least 500 animal welfare volunteers in your district. The bigger the network, the stronger every responder becomes.

यह ऐप क्या करता है
एक दिखाई देने वाली सेना बनाता है जो एक-दूसरे की और संकट में पशुओं की रक्षा करती है।

यह ऐप क्या नहीं है
यह रिपोर्ट करने वाली हेल्पलाइन नहीं है जहाँ एम्बुलेंस या पुलिस जादू से प्रकट हो जाएगी। यह सक्रिय स्वयंसेवा का मंच है आपके जिले में पशु कल्याण समुदाय बनाने के लिए। आप इसे जितना बड़ा बनाएंगे, यह उतना ही प्रभावी होगा।
विज़न: 780 जिले, एक नेटवर्क
भारत में लगभग 780 जिले हैं। लक्ष्य है कि प्रत्येक क्षेत्र में कम से कम 10,000 फीडरों और देखभाल करने वालों का नेटवर्क बनाया जाए। इस नेटवर्क में से प्रत्येक क्षेत्र में लगभग 1,000 सदस्यों की एक रैपिड रिस्पॉन्स टीम बनेगी जो किसी फीडर पर हमला होने, RWA द्वारा परेशान किए जाने, प्रशासन द्वारा शिकायत नज़रअंदाज़ करने, या किसी पशु को तत्काल सहायता की ज़रूरत होने पर तुरंत प्रतिक्रिया दे सके।
यदि सिर्फ़ 200–300 सदस्य भी प्रतिक्रिया देते हैं, तो उनकी सामूहिक उपस्थिति सुरक्षा, जवाबदेही और सहयोग सुनिश्चित कर देती है और पशु कल्याण के इर्द-गिर्द फैली खामोशी टूट जाती है।
ऐप कैसे काम करता है
SOS व्यू काउंट। SOS भेजने वाले को दिखता है कि अलर्ट कितने लोगों तक पहुँचा है यह पहला संकेत है कि अलर्ट कितनी दूर तक गया।
जिले की सब्सक्राइबर संख्या और नाम। आप साफ देख सकते हैं कि आपके जिले में कितने लोग सब्सक्राइब्ड हैं और वे कौन हैं। अगर बहुत कम हैं, तो ऐप को और अधिक लोगों के साथ साझा करना ज़रूरी है।
रिस्पॉन्डर-शुरू चैट। चैट केवल तब चालू होती है जब SOS सक्रिय हो यह आपातकाल पर केंद्रित रहती है। SOS भेजने वाला चैट शुरू नहीं कर सकता; मदद के लिए तैयार कोई भी प्राप्तकर्ता ही चैट शुरू करता है। एक बार शुरू होने पर यह सामान्य दो-तरफ़ा बातचीत बन जाती है।
